Making Progress

As the deadline approaches, and the student of UOIT work day and night to complete their vehicle, the road ahead looks bright.

With only a couple weeks left until all 16 teams in the EcoCAR competition get their vehicle packaged to be shipped to the year 2 competition, UOIT students find themselves working around the clock to put the finishing touches on what looks to be a competition winner. Having spent the past year and a half working on the design and technical specifications of the vehicle, the students finally took their vehicle for a test drive. The vehicle, running entirely on battery produces zero emission and harmful gases. One might wonder that since it is a fully electric vehicle then the range would be compromized, not so says the team lead Mike,

"Our vehicle is designed to travel over 400 KM on a single charge, putting this into perspective, an average individual travels 60 KM every day. Our vehicle greatly exceeds the average and is comparable to vehicles currently being driven on our roads today".

Now that the vehicle is running, the team continues to work to make finer adjustments to its controls and overall presentation of the vehicle.
