Lessons from Detroit Conference on Plug-in Electric Vehicles

This may come as no shock to readers of Gas 2.0, but the complexity and number of major players involved in making this happen is not easily grasped. This is why the conference, called The Business of Plugging In, brought a diverse, all-star cast of speakers to Detroit.

UOIT Wraps Electric Bus With EcoCAR Graphics

Bus WrapLast year, the UOIT EcoCAR team acquired two electric buses that we have since used to increase our visibility at outreach events. We recently wrapped one of the buses with EcoCAR imagery and made a video about the process. Check it out to learn more and see how it looks!

My Co-Curricular Opportunities at UOIT

One of the benefits of being a student in a small institution is the availability of co-curricular opportunities in which to participate – especially when enrolled in a school as research intensive as UOIT. Positions such as research assistantships and work studies, which in larger schools are often offered to graduate students, are instead being filled by UOIT’s promising undergraduates.

My own experience at UOIT is wonderfully reflective of this. I am fortunate enough to hold a position in the Office of the Associate Provost, Academic and have recently taken on the job of Outreach Coordinator for the Department of Engineering and Applied Science’s EcoCAR: The Next Challenge project.
